A hiking paradise

Around 530 kilometres of hiking trails run through the Val d’Ega Dolomites, so that you may embark on a varied tour every day of your holiday in South Tyrol. In our hiking areas you will find wonderful panorama routes, alpine hut, and farm trails and of course many peaks and summits, such as Mount Latemar, Catinaccio or Corno Bianco. WITH YOUR MOUNTAIN BIKE

There are almost 250 kilometres of mountain bike trails in Val d’Ega. The choice of trails is perfect not only for sporty cyclists, but also for all active vacationers who simply want to get on their bikes occasionally. For families there are leisurely and easy tours, yet with fabulous views.

In our region you may even refresh your skills in two bike schools or learn from scratch. If you want to decide once you are on site, you may rent bikes from several mountain bike rental shops nearby.

In addition to the unique nature experiences, the Val d’Ega has also other attractions to offer. For example, you may use the local golf course or the tennis courts in the sports zone in Ega.

Those interested in culture may visit Karneid Castle, and the baroque pilgrimage church and the Maria Weißenstein monastery on the Regglberg are also worth seeing. You will find a pearl of sacred architecture in Nova Ponente with the Romanesque churches of St. Helena and St. Agatha.

Instead of a trip into religious traditions, you may also book a ticket “into space”. The Gummer observatory offers interesting information on stars, asteroids, and other phenomena in the starry sky. There is also something for children!

For a day trip, including a long stroll through the city, the provincial capital Bolzano, which with its romantic old town is mainly known for the fruit market and the vaulted shopping arcades. In Bolzano you may visit the natural history museum or in the archaeological museum and discover the glacier mummy Ötzi. Art enthusiasts get their money’s worth at the Museion.
